Shakhtar loan Stoican out

UEFA Cup challengers FC Shakhtar Donetsk have agreed to let Romanian defender Flavius Stoican join FC Metalist Kharkiv on loan until end of the season.

Permanent deal
The 29-year-old joined Metalist on their pre-season camp in Turkey and has signed a contract until the end of the season, with a view of permanent deal. Stoican, who has earned 19 international caps for Romania, could have moved to Metalist last summer but the deal fell through due to injury.

Metalurh loan
Stoican spent the 2005/06 season on loan to FC Metalurh Donetsk, having previously played for FC Universitatea Craiova and FC Dinamo Bucuresti in Romania. He scored three goals in 130 Romanian top-flight appearances before moving to Shakhtar in 2003/04. Shakhtar face AS Nancy-Lorraine in the UEFA Cup Round of 32, with the first leg in Ukraine on Wednesday.
