Second leg
The 29-year-old New Zealand international defender was replaced by Zurab Khizanishvili shortly after half-time and manager Mark Hughes confirmed after the game that he had aggravated an old injury. "It is the hamstring that he had the operation on but we think it is just a piece of scar tissue that has released itself," said Hughes. "So long term he will be better for that. We hope it is not serious but he is certainly going to be out in the short term for about three to four weeks." He will thus miss the return leg of the UEFA Cup first round tie at Ewood Park on 4 October.
