Flu and fever
The German international has not travelled to Lisbon for the UEFA Cup first round second leg tie as he is suffering from flu and a fever. "Playing him is not an option", said coach Ottmar Hitzfeld before Bayern's plane left for the Portuguese capital. Podolski was expected to start in Klose's absence as Bayern look to defend a 1-0 lead from the first leg. Bastian Schweinsteiger (calf) and Mark van Bommel (toe) remain doubtful for the match.
