'Happy to be back'
The 21-year-old Boenisch moved to the Weserstadion from FC Schalke 04 on 1 September but made just two substitute appearances before undergoing knee surgery. "Everyone who knows how much I love playing football can imagine how happy I am to be back," said the German Under-21 international, although it is not yet known when he will return to first-team action. Finnish international centre-back Pasanen, 27, is also training again after overcoming a minor groin injury. Bremen, second in the Bundesliga, play leaders FC Bayern München on Sunday before a UEFA Cup Round of 32 tie against SC Braga on 13 and 21 February.
