The 31-year-old right-back has penned a three-year deal with Martin O'Neill's UEFA Europa League contenders, who meet SK Rapid Wien on 20 and 27 August for a place in the competition's group stage. Capped 43 times by Senegal, Beye is Villa's third summer recruit following the arrivals of Stewart Downing from Middlesbrough FC and Fabian Delph from Leeds United AFC. Formerly of Paris Saint-Germain FC, RC Strasbourg and Olympique de Marseille, Beye made 23 Premier League appearances last season as Newcastle suffered relegation from England's top flight.
