European defeat
Partizan won successive doubles under the former Yugoslavia midfielder but his tenure was brought to an end after the club failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League group stage, losing 2-1 on aggregate to Cypriot side APOEL FC. "I wish my successor all the best," said Jokanović. "He has taken over a team with a lot of potential." Partizan are third in the Serbian Superliga after three matches with seven points, two behind leaders FK Vojvodina and city rivals OFK Belgrade, and begin their UEFA Europa League campaign at home to Toulouse FC on 17 September after overcoming MŠK Žilina in the play-offs.
