The season so far: Eliminated by FC Spartak Moskva in the UEFA Champions League play-offs, Fenerbahçe won all three of their away games in the group stage – including victories at Olympique de Marseille and VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach – to propel them towards top spot in Group C. They have ground out results against FC BATE Borisov and FC Viktoria Plzeň since to reach the last eight.
One to watch: Fenerbahçe give nothing away, and that resilience is partly down to experienced goalkeeper Volkan Demirel, who is hoping for Turkish successes in both major UEFA club competitions. "I think we have a chance at the title," the 31-year-old said. "If it were up to me, we will win the Europe League and Galatasaray will win the Champions League."
