UEFA Europa League Group B runners-up Torino FC have enhanced their striking options by landing Argentinian forward Maxi López from AC Chievo Verona.
The Granata become the fifth Italian club of the 30-year-old former youth international's career, with López having managed only one goal in nine outings for Chievo since his summer switch from Calcio Catania. Part of the FC Barcelona squad that won the 2005/06 UEFA Champions League and two Liga titles, he had previously won three Clausura championships with CA River Plate and also represented RCD Mallorca, FC Moksva and Grêmio Foot-Ball Porto Alegrense. Following his 2010 move to Catania, the front man also had loan spells at AC Milan and UC Sampdoria.
Torino, who lie 14th in Serie A – two places above Chievo – face Athletic Club in the UEFA Europa League round of 32 on 19 and 26 February.
