  • Fiorentina defeated Tottenham 3-1 on aggregate in last season's round of 32.
  • Dortmund and Porto have never met in European competition.
  • Olympiacos won 3-0 and 3-1 against Anderlecht in the 2013/14 UEFA Champions League group stage.
  • European debutants Augsburg play three-time UEFA Cup and five-time European Cup winners Liverpool.
  • Galatasaray and Lazio faced off in the 2001/02 UEFA Champions League group stage. Both teams won their home games 1-0.
  • Shakhtar and Schalke met in the 2004/05 UEFA Cup, also in the round of 32, the Ukrainian side going through 2-1 on aggregate.
  • Sporting and Leverkusen came together in the 1997/98 and 2000/01 UEFA Champions League group stages, the German outfit winning three and drawing one of the four fixtures.
  • Villarreal drew 0-0 away and won 2-1 at home to oust Napoli at the last-32 stage of the 2010/11 edition. The Partenopei gained revenge with a pair of 2-0 victories in the following season's group stage.
