The UEFA Europa League attendance record was smashed in February 2023 when 90,255 turned out at Camp Nou to watch Barcelona's see-saw encounter with Manchester United in the first leg of their knockout round play-off, which ended 2-2.

That bettered the previous high of 80,465 set when Tottenham were also held 2-2 by Gent at Wembley six years before. English clubs have been involved in all of the competition's six best attended matches, with United in four.
