Goalkeeper: Sergio Álvarez (Celta Vigo)
Well beaten by Marcus Rashford's second-half free-kick, the agile No1 nonetheless kept Celta in the tie with three fine stops to deny Rashford, Jesse Lingard and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the first half.

Defender: Kenny Tete (Ajax)
Deputising for Ajax's suspended vice-captain Joël Veltman, the young right-back produced an assured display and thwarted Lyon danger men Rachid Ghezzal and Nabil Fekir.

Defender: Matthijs de Ligt (Ajax)
Still only 17, the elegant two-footed centre-back put in another composed performance at the heart of the Ajax defence in the biggest game yet of his impressive breakthrough campaign.

Defender: Eric Bailly (Manchester United)
The centre-half showed bravery to put his head in and stop a John Guidetti shot at source. Another clean sheet for United; another steady night's work from the talented Ivorian.

Midfielder: Hakim Ziyech (Ajax)
Arguably his team's stand-out performer once again, the Moroccan international became the first player ever to record three assists in a UEFA Europa League semi-final or final.

Midfielder: Paul Pogba (Manchester United)
Back from injury to take his place in midfield, where he tormented Celta and galvanised United's moves forward. Pogba went reasonably close with a free-kick from distance too.

Midfielder: Pione Sisto (Celta Vigo)
The Dane netted twice against United for Midtjylland in last term's competition and was the Liga outfit's most tangible threat in Vigo too, his second-half shot tipped just over by Sergio Romero.

Midfielder: Amin Younes (Ajax)
A constant threat down the left, the German winger notched his fourth strike of this UEFA Europa League campaign to give his side a commanding 3-0 lead after the interval.

Forward: Bertrand Traoré (Ajax)
The on-loan forward scored the first, provided the second and helped himself to the fourth in an all-action showing at the Amsterdam ArenA – his best in the Godenzonen colours.

Forward: Kasper Dolberg (Ajax)
The 19-year-old led the Ajax line brilliantly and bagged his fifth goal in Europe this season in typically calm fashion – increasing his tally to 20 goals in all competitions this term.

Forward: Marcus Rashford (Manchester United)
Always willing coming forward, the teenager's free-kick was a cut above the rest of United's finishes – a splendid effort with his right foot that finally undid Celta's resistance.
