Žižkov let Lavicka go

FK Viktoria Žižkov have sacked coach Vitezslav Lavicka after a poor start to the season.

FK Viktoria Žižkov have sacked their coach, Vitezslav Lavicka, after a run of three straight defeats.

Losing run
The Czech UEFA Cup hopefuls, who face Brondby IF in the first round later this month, are currently tenth in the league standings with only six points from six games.

Replacement is to find
The 40-year-old Lavicka arrived at the club in summer 2002, leading Žižkov to fourth spot in his first season. His replacement has not yet been confirmed and assistant coach Václav Hradecký will take over in a caretaker capacity for the next few days.

Second change
Žižkov are the second Czech side to change their coach this season after Karel Jarolím replaced Radek Rabusic at 1. FC Synot last month.
