Trabzonspor coach Şenol Güneş has moved to strengthen his midfield ahead of this season's UEFA Europa League campaign with the signing of Barış Ataş from relegated Diyarbakırspor.

Trabzonspor have signed midfielder Barış Ataş from relegated Diyarbakırspor on a free transfer.

The 23-year-old has agreed a three-year contract with the option for a further 12 months with the Turkish Cup winners. "I feel very happy to be joining one of the biggest sides of Turkey," Barış said after being unveiled by the Black Sea club, who will enter the 2010/11 UEFA Europa League in the play-offs. "There will be an enjoyable competition between the midfielders here and I am ready for it."

A product of Diyarbakırspor's youth programme, Barış made his first-team debut during the 2005/06 season and was a member of the club's promotion-winning squad three campaigns later. He started 30 top-flight games for Diyarbakırspor last term and appeared in 86 league games for the Anatolian club in total.
