Rami ruled out but Lille count on experience

New France defender Adil Rami will miss LOSC Lille Métropole's play-off trip to FC Vaslui because of injury and he could be joined on the sidelines by midfielder Yohan Cabaye.

Captain Rio Mavuba says experience may prove decisive when LOSC Lille Métropole meet FC Vaslui in Thursday's UEFA Europa League play-off first leg, but the Ligue 1 side will be without France defender Adil Rami.

Rami has not travelled to Romania because of a groin injury, with coach Rudi Garcia also expressing doubts over another newly capped French international, midfielder Yohan Cabaye. Mavuba, though, believes Les Dogues have enough strength in depth to cope.

"Having experienced the group stage last season we know how good it can be beyond this play-off," he said, dismissing questions about Lille's early-season form following Ligue 1 draws with Stade Rennais FC and Paris Saint-Germain FC. "Our experience will help a lot."
