Perea puts pen to Atlético extension

Colombian international defender Luis Perea has signed a contract extension with Club Atlético de Madrid, tying him to the UEFA Europa League holders until 30 June 2012.

UEFA Europa League holders Club Atlético de Madrid have rewarded defender Luis Perea with a one-year contract extension that ties the Colombian international to the club until 30 June 2012.

The 31-year-old – who has made 189 appearances for Los Rojiblancos – arrived at Atlético in 2004 after impressing in a friendly against them while playing for CA Boca Juniors. An international on 50 occasions, the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Super Cup winner will now be hoping to help Quique Sánchez Flores's team reach the round of 32 with victory against Group B rivals Aris Thessaloniki FC on Wednesday.
