Roda complete Kujovic deal

Dutch club Roda JC have signed KSC Eendracht Aalst captain and goalkeeper Vladan Kujovic.

Dutch club Roda JC have signed KSC Eendracht Aalst captain and goalkeeper Vladan Kujovic on a five-year contract.

Back on loan
The 23-year-old Yugoslavian international will still finish the season with Eendracht after Roda agreed to loan him back to his former side. Kujovic, who was under contract at Eendracht until 2004, was allowed to leave the Belgian side because of financial difficulties. The former Yugoslavia Under-21 keeper has played in Aalst for five season since arriving from FK Radnicki Niš.

'Avoid relegation'
"Both Roda and me we wanted to secure our future instantly and that is why we signed the contract now," Kujovic said. "I am the Eendracht skipper and the squad need me in a fight to avoid relegation.

'Long negations'
"These were long negotiations which ended up in mutual satisfaction. I wanted to move to a club that plays in European competition every year, and Roda are this club. Roda offered me a good deal, but I do not want to mention the fee. I am also glad that coach George Leekens insisted I come to Roda," he added.
