FC Spartak Moskva have secured the services of midfielder Denis Glushakov from rivals FC Lokomotiv Moskva for a fee thought to be in the region of €8m.

The 26-year-old, capped 19 times by Russia, becomes coach Valeri Karpin's second signing of the summer following the arrival of Valencia CF schemer Tino Costa. The move brings to an end Glushakov's eight-year association with Lokomotiv, during which he was made captain and scored 20 goals in 142 Premier-Liga appearances.

Three times an Under-21 international, Glushakov made his senior debut in a friendly against Qatar in March 2011. He scored his first goal for Russia in a UEFA EURO 2012 qualifier against Andorra and was part of the squad that finished third in Group A at the final tournament in Poland and Ukraine.

Spartak, fourth in the 2012/13 Russian table, begin their UEFA Europa League campaign in the play-offs.
