SS Lazio have reached an agreement with UEFA Europa League rivals Valencia CF for the signature of Hélder Postiga on loan until the end of the season.
The 31-year-old forward – who boasts an extensive CV at club and international levels – arrived in Rome on Thursday morning, putting pen to paper on a deal that could be made permanent in the summer. Postiga only signed a two-year contract at the Mestalla in August, but has been restricted to just 15 Liga appearances, registering three times.
A former FC Porto youth product, Postiga went on to score 36 goals in 114 Portuguese top-flight games over three spells with the Dragons, winning three Liga championships and a UEFA Cup among other trophies. The Portuguese international has also had stints at Tottenham Hotspur FC, AS Saint-Étienne, Panathinaikos FC, Sporting Clube de Portugal and Real Zaragoza.
