Sochaux go for Potillon

Paris Saint-Germain FC defender Lionel Potillon has signed a three-year contract with FC Sochaux-Montbéliard.

European pedigree
The 30-year-old, who played three UEFA Champions League games last season while on loan in Spain with Real Sociedad de Fútbol, agreed terms with Sochaux on Tuesday and is now set to help his new side as they seek success in this season's UEFA Cup following their success in last season's French League Cup.

Transfer target
"He was one of Sochaux's main transfer targets for this summer," read an official statement from the club who finished fifth in Ligue 1 last season. "He came close to signing three years ago. This player in tune with the spirit of the club."

Reinforcements needed
Sochaux are in need of reinforcements after German defender Philippe Raschke retired at the end of last season. They are also in search of a midfield player to replace Benoît Pedretti, who has joined Olympique de Marseille, and a striker to replace Pierre-Alain Frau who has joined Olympique Lyonnais.
