The 30-year-old was released by RCD Espanyol yesterday despite having a year left on his contract. Tayfun joined the Barcelona-based club last summer after three seasons at Real Sociedad de Fútbol that culminated in qualification for the UEFA Champions League.
Experienced international
"It feels really good to play in my country again," said Tayfun at his unveiling by the UEFA Cup challengers. He scored 22 goals in 142 appearances for his previous Turkish team, Fenerbahçe SK, and is an experienced international with 42 caps. However, he has not played for Turkey since September 2003.
