Jurcevic makes Dinamo departure

Nikola Jurcevic has resigned as coach of NK Dinamo Zagreb despite his team's unbeaten start to the season.

Third consecutive draw
Dinamo's 2-2 draw at NK Varteks on Sunday was their third in a row, but having won their opening First League match they lie fifth in the table with six points from four games. The team also hold a 4-0 first-leg lead over NK Primorje in the UEFA Cup second qualifying round, yet Jurcevic, the ex-NK Zagreb coach who was appointed in June 2003, has still opted to stand down.

Bago in charge
His assistant, Djuro Bago, will take charge on a caretaker basis. With Dinamo due to play Primorje in Slovenia on 26 August, vice-president Zdravko Mamic said: "I hope we will solve this problem by the end of the week, but we do not want to rush into a decision. That would be a mistake." Dinamo trail early pacesetters NK Inter Zaprešic by six points.
