Muscle tear sidelines Ezquerro

Athletic Club Bilbao will be without striker Santiago Ezquerro for the next month after the player tore a muscle in his right thigh in Thursday's UEFA Cup tie against Trabzonspor.

Half-time substitution
The forward, who scored the first goal in a 2-0 win as the Spanish side overturned a 3-2 first-leg deficit to win 4-3 overall, was withdrawn at half-time and is likely to be sidelined for at least four weeks.

Early equaliser
Ezquerro restored parity on aggregate five minutes into the second leg in Spain, with fellow forward Francisco Yeste scoring what proved to be the winning goal a minute past the hour. Athletic are in the third seeding pool ahead of Tuesday's draw for the UEFA Cup group stage.
