S.S. Lazio midfield player Emanuele Filippini will be out of action for about four weeks after suffering a right thigh injury during Sunday's 1-0 home defeat against AC Chievo Verona.
New signing
The 31-year-old joined Lazio last summer on loan from US Città di Palermo together with his twin brother Antonio. He has played five Serie A matches so far for the Rome club.
Cup setback
If the injury keeps him out for the period expected, Filippini will miss the UEFA Cup Group E games at home to Villarreal CF on Thursday and away to Middlesbrough FC on 4 November. Lazio are in eleventh position in Serie A with eight points from six matches.
