MANCHESTER UNITED v CELTA VIGO

Arsenal 2-0 Manchester United (Xhaka 54, Welbeck 57)
United remain four points behind fourth-placed Manchester City after José Mourinho suffered a first ever competitive loss at the hands of Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger. To make matters worse, former United forward Danny Welbeck was among the goals as the Red Devils' record run of 25 Premier League games without defeat came to an end.

Málaga 3-0 Celta (Javier Ontiveros 26, Recio 56pen, Ramírez 90+2)
Celta will have to arrest a sequence of five reverses in all competitions if they are to have any chance at Old Trafford on Thursday. Coach Eduardo Berizzo again fielded a much-changed line-up and his team were comfortably swept aside, Javier Ontiveros beginning a miserable evening for the visitors with a sublime solo effort. The Galician club's fourth consecutive Liga defeat left them 12th as Málaga moved ahead in the standings.

Lyon 3-2 Nantes (Fekir 65pen, Cornet 70 80; Valentin Rongier 19, Gillet 75)
Substitute Maxwel Cornet was the hero for Lyon as Bruno Génésio's men battled back from a goal down to strengthen their hold on fourth spot in France. Coming on for Alexandre Lacazette with 65 minutes gone, he headed his team in front following Nabil Fekir's penalty and sealed the points late on after Nantes had drawn level.

Ajax 4-0 Go Ahead Eagles (Kluivert 24, Dolberg 29, De Jong 48, Cassierra 71)
It was a dramatic afternoon in the Eredivisie as leaders Feyenoord missed the chance to wrap up the title in a 3-0 loss at Excelsior – their heaviest league reverse this term. Second-placed Ajax seized the lifeline in a comfortable win against the bottom side, 19-year-old Kasper Dolberg grabbing his 15th top-flight goal this term after Justin Kluivert had led the way with his second.
