With seven points from a possible nine in UEFA Europa League Group I, Salzburg are well on the way to reaching the round of 32 for the fifth time in seven group stage attempts. They maintained their momentum with a 2-0 win at Konyaspor last time out.

• Having worked for various Super League clubs, coach Mehmet Özdilek assumed duties at Konyaspor on 26 October. The 51-year-old enjoyed his most successful times at Antalyaspor during a five-season stay (2008–13). In his last season, Antalyaspor recorded a famous 3-1 win against Fenerbahçe, ending the Istanbul side's 47-match unbeaten home run.
