AC Milan striker Marco Borriello has left the San Siro for another season's loan spell - this time with UC Sampdoria.
'A step forward'
The 23-year-old scored two goals in 30 appearances during a similar spell at Reggina Calcio last term, and is looking forward to the challenge ahead in Genoa. "At Milan there is huge competition for places in attack, but the move to Sampdoria is another step forward in my career. I am looking forward to starting the new campaign," he said. Ex-Italian Under-21 international Borriello has also played on loan at Empoli FC in Serie A.
Sala signs in
In addition, Sampdoria have recruited Luigi Sala from relegated Atalanta BC for an undisclosed fee. The 31-year-old former AC Milan and AC Chievo Verona defender played 29 games last season, scoring three goals. He has agreed a two-year contract with the Blucerchiati.
