The 22-year-old spent last season back in Denmark with Brøndby IF, making 22 league appearances, following similar loan spells with Stoke City FC and his former club FC København during the 2003/04 campaign.
'Good technique'
He was under contract at Highbury until 2006, but moves to a Guimarães side who finished fith in Portugal's SuperLiga to qualify for the UEFA Cup. "I am glad to be here," Svárd said. "I am a hard-working player with good technique and think I can do well in Portuguese football."
