Hertha BSC Berlin defender Joe Simunic will be out of action for two months, dealing a blow to the German side's UEFA Cup hopes.
A magnetic resonance scan has revealed that the Croatian defender suffered a ligament injury in Hertha's German Cup defeat against FC Holstein Kiel.
Meanwhile Hertha's German international Marko Rehmer suffered a face injury in the match against Kiel and could also face a spell on the sidelines. "Marko looked as if he had been run over by a train," Hertha general manager Dieter Hoeness said.
