Marazzina pens new Chievo deal

Italian international Massimo Marazzina has signed a new four-year contract at AC Chievo Verona.

AC Chievo Verona striker Massimo Marazzina has moved to end any speculation regarding his future by signing a new four-year contract with the UEFA Cup challengers.

Linked with Parma
The 28-year-old Marazzina, an Italian international, has recently been linked with a move to Parma AC as a replacement for Marco Di Vaio, who has signed for Juventus FC, in addition to a number of foreign clubs.

Historical appearance
The first player in the history of Chievo to be capped while playing for the club, Marazzina has not been included in the Azzurri squad to tackle Azerbaijan in Italy's first 2004 UEFA European Championship qualifying match on Saturday. He did feature, however, in last month's 1-0 friendly defeat by Slovenia in Trieste.

UEFA Cup date
Marazzina, who previously played for Internazionale FC, scored 13 goals last season as Chievo stunned the Italian football establishment by finishing fifth to qualify for the UEFA Cup. Chievo will face former European Champion Clubs' Cup winners FK Crvena Zvezda in the first round of the competition.
