AS Monaco FC goalkeeper Flavio Roma has targeted a swift return after injury, and could be fit to face FC Basel 1893 in the UEFA Cup on 15 February.
'Fortnight or three weeks'
"I hope I can play in a fortnight or three weeks, but even the club doctor does not know exactly when I will be back," he said. Roma is expected to take over from his understudy, the former BV Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal FC goalkeeper Guillaume Warmuz.
World Cup dream
Roma still has an outside chance of making Italy's FIFA World Cup squad, having made his Azzurri debut last March. "I am thinking first about training and then playing. I can only worry about the World Cup once I'm playing again, but I am pleased because members of the national team staff still call me regularly."
