UEFA Cup hopefuls SC Heerenveen are on the verge of signing Denmark Under-21 international Jakob Poulsen from Esbjerg fB for an undisclosed fee.
Versatile youngster
The 22-year-old midfielder has agreed a three-and-a-half year deal, which he will sign subject to passing a medical on his return from international duty in Chile on Monday. Poulsen, who can play in midfield and at right-back, ends a four-year spell at Esbjerg, for whom he scored 21 goals in 134 games after making his debut in 2001.
Cup-tied
The youngster helped the side reach the second qualifying round of the UEFA Cup earlier this season, meaning he is ineligible for Heerenveen's Round of 32 tie against FC Steaua Bucuresti.
