RCD Espanyol have agreed the transfer of Brazilian midfielder Jônatas from CR Flamengo, with the player set to sign a four-year contract with the Spanish Cup winners.
Brazil call-up
The deal, which is reportedly worth €2m to Flamengo, will be completed once Jônatas passes a medical at the Barcelona-based club. Espanyol are getting a 24-year-old player who has just received his first international call-up for Brazil's friendly in Norway on 16 August. As well as future prospects, Jônatas also brings the experience of 101 top-flight appearances for Flamengo, the Rio de Janeiro giants for whom he scored seven goals. Espanyol will enter the UEFA Cup in September's first round.
