Gillet swaps Gent for Anderlecht

RSC Anderlecht have agreed an undisclosed fee with first division rivals KAA Gent to secure the signature of the 22-year-old Belgium right-back Guillaume Gillet.

UEFA Cup contenders RSC Anderlecht have signed Belgium international right-back Guillaume Gillet from first division rivals KAA Gent for an undisclosed fee.

U21 experience
The 22-year-old has secured a three-and-a-half year contract with the Brussels-based club, and has already linked up with his new team-mates at their winter training camp at La Manga, Spain. Gillet has been at Gent since summer 2006, having joined from AS Eupen. He was a member of the Belgium squad who reached the last four at the 2007 UEFA European Under-21 Championship in the Netherlands and has since been capped three times by the senior side under coach René Vandereycken, making his debut against Finland on 13 October. Anderlecht meet FC Girondins de Bordeaux in the UEFA Cup Round of 32 in February.
