Healthy home wins for European heavyweights Werder Bremen, Olympique de Marseille, PSV Eindhoven and Sporting Clube de Portugal have given them a great chance of reaching the last 16 following this week's UEFA Cup Round of 32 matches.

Ties to be continued
Bremen and Marseille will travel to next Thursday's second-leg games on the back of 3-0 victories, while PSV and Sporting take two-goal cushions with them. Also well-placed are the three English clubs, who all prevailed, while of the four German sides only 1. FC Nürnberg lost. Meanwhile, in ten of the 16 ties, the teams are separated by a single goal or less. No clubs were seeded in the draw for the last 16. Match dates are scheduled for 6 and 12/13 March, with final dates, venues and kick-off times to be confirmed by 25 February.
