Making an impression
The 22-year-old Brazilian took the honours after finishing ahead of FC Dynamo Kyiv forward Artem Milevskiy and FC Vorskla Poltava's Dynamo-bound midfielder Serhiy Kravchenko. Jajá joined Metalist midway through last season from Belgium's KVC Westerlo and helped his new side finish third in the Premier League. This term he has done even better for a Metalist team flying high in second place in the title race, scoring ten goals in 17 league games and two more in the UEFA Cup for Myron Markevich's Group B winners. The poll was carried out by leading sports newspaper Komanda. Metalist will play UC Sampdoria in the UEFA Cup Round of 32.
