Feyenoord lure Lazovic

Feyenoord have signed FK Partizan's Serbia and Montenegro striker Danko Lazovic on a five-year contract.

Emerton departure
The Dutch club are believed to have paid €6m for the 20-year-old, who arrives the same day that midfield player Brett Emerton left Rotterdam for Blackburn Rovers FC in England. [Click here for full Emerton story]

'Very big achievement'
"This is a great day for me," said Lazovic. "I'm very happy. To sign for one of Europe's top clubs at the age of 20 is a big achievement. I now have a one-week holiday and then I will begin to prepare for life at my new club. The future looks very bright."

'Favourable moment'
"We have known about Lazovic for some time, having watched him closely over the seasons," Feyenoord coach Bert van Marwijk said. "We were looking to sign him in a couple of years, but then we had the chance to bring him in right now."

Title triumph
Lazovic scored 18 goals as Partizan claimed the 2003 Prva savezna liga title. He is an integral part of the Serbia and Montenegro Under-21 side, and made his debut for the full national side against Brazil last year.
