Portuguese international goalkeeper Ricardo has left Boavista FC for Sporting Clube de Portugal.
Sporting, who finished third in the Super Liga last season to gain a UEFA Cup place, have beaten SL Benfica to the 27-year-old's signature. The Lisbon club will pay an undisclosed transfer fee to Boavista who will also have the right to 20 per cent of any future sell-on fee.
Ricardo spent seven years at Boavista, winning 16 international caps along the way, as well as the Portuguese title, the Portuguese Cup and a Portuguese Super Cup. He becomes the second Boavista player to move to Sporting this summer after forward Silva.
