Valencia CF have paid a reported €4m to sign Jorge López on a four-year deal from Villarreal CF.
López has joined on a four-year contract and completed the move today after passing a medical. The 24-year-old Spaniard played for Villarreal in this summer's UEFA Intertoto Cup, but was made available for transfer after a dispute over wages.
However, López, who had a year left on his Villarreal contract, wished his old club "the very best of luck". Of his new team, he added: "It will be an honour to play for Valencia. Everything has worked out as I had hoped. I am really thrilled to have signed and am going to give my best to Valencia."
López becomes Valencia's third close-season buy after Uruguayan midfield player Fabián Canobbio and Brazilian striker Ricardo Oliveira.
