'Nothing serious'
The 28-year-old requires surgery, which will take place on Monday, to cure the problem, as Juan Alborch explained on Friday. "It's just a gap in his career," said the Villarreal club doctor. "He rotated his knee, which caused the injury, but it's nothing serious. He will be back in four to six weeks."
Injury problems
The injury is a further blow to Villarreal, who have already lost Marcos Senna to a long-term injury and begin the new season with just 16 fit players.
