Sporting Clube de Portugal have increased their forward options by signing Brazilian Under-23 international Liedson.
The arrival of the 25-year-old striker will help compensate for injuries to Marius Niculae and Elpidio Silva, which had left Sporting coach Fernando Santos with just one fit striker in 20-year-old Lourenço following the summer sales of Cristiano Ronaldo and Ricardo Quaresma.
Sporting spent €2m for the player, who arrives on a three-year contract with the option of a further 12 months. He had been on loan at the Sao Paulo club SC Corinthians Paulista, although his contract was split between Prudentópolis and Coritiba FC.
