Trivia and links
Dynamo's record at home against Danish sides is W3 D2 L1; the only Danes to prevail in Kyiv to date were Brøndby IF – 1-0 winners in a 1997/98 UEFA Champions League qualifier.

Dynamo striker Dieumerci Mbokani and AaB counterpart Rasmus Jönsson were team-mates at VfL Wolfsburg while the former was on loan in 2011.

AaB kicked off Group J with the heaviest defeat in UEFA Europa League (group stage to final) history, 6-0 at FC Steaua Bucureşti. It was also their worst result in the UEFA Cup and UEFA Europa League. They have conceded ten goals in their last two European away matches.

Dynamo midfielder Vladyslav Kalitvintsev's father Yuriy Kalitvintsev was in the starting lineup the first time these clubs met in Kyiv.

The coaches
Dynamo coach Serhiy Rebrov formed a deadly attacking partnership with Andriy Shevchenko for the Bilo-Syni, though his goals dried up somewhat after moving abroad. Following retirement in 2009, Rebrov took a job with Dynamo's youth team, but became first team coach in May 2014 after a successful caretaker spell.

• Kent Nielsen led Aalborg to a domestic double in 2013/14 after taking command in 2010. Having turned out – like his father and brother – for Bronshøj BK, Nielsen won titles with Brøndby IF and played abroad with Aston Villa FC. Capped 54 times, he coached AGF Aarhus, AC Horsens and Brøndby before taking up his current role.
