Prepping and packing

Already started planning your trip to the UEFA Nations League Finals? 🤩 You’re well on your way to having an incredible time in the Netherlands! But just in case, we’ve prepared our expert tips to ensure you’ve got everything ready before you set off. ⬇️

1) Plan your trip ahead – journey times may take longer! 🏟️

As the third-place match and the final will be played on a Sunday, there will likely be more weekend traffic and planned construction works will also impact travel between Enschede and Rotterdam.

Our dedicated travel page is here to help!

2) Book your seat on one of the coach buses to travel to Rotterdam or Enschede 🚌

Matchday coach buses will be running from multiple locations in the Netherlands to take you directly to the stadiums. This is a highly convenient option - even if the matches go to extra-time or penalties, the buses will wait!

More details on our travel page.

3) It’s best to leave the car at home but if you do plan to drive, you MUST reserve a parking spot in advance 🅿️

Due to high traffic on matchday, avoid driving if you can. If you do, however, you must pre-book your parking spot. If you’re a regular at one of the two stadiums, keep in mind the parking procedure may be different from what you’re used to.

For general advice on travel between the host cities, check out our dedicated page.

4) Make sure you have the official UEFA Nations League app downloaded...

...so you can access the Event Companion and have all the key info you need on the go. Keep in mind this is a separate app from the UEFA Mobile Tickets app. ⚠️

That way you have all the info you need on the go, plus a live feed of important daily updates and interactive maps. 🙂

5) Join the pre-match festivities in both cities 🎉

Get in the Finals spirit, meet fellow fans and enjoy the pre-match activations happening in Rotterdam and Enschede. The Fan Meeting Points will kick off early on matchday and be open to everyone so there’s plenty of reason to start your journey to the stadium early.

6) Transfer your mobile match ticket 📲

All tickets will be mobile tickets, so install the dedicated UEFA Mobile Ticket app on your phone and download your ticket(s) before you set off to the Netherlands. Our ticketing team will send you all the details by email. Here are the key steps to remember:

  • Transfer your ticket(s) to others in your group before heading to the Netherlands
  • Download your ticket and have them ready on the UEFA Mobile Ticket app
  • Enable Bluetooth when approaching the gate

7) A full battery is what you want! 🔋

For a stress-free experience, ensure your phone is fully charged for your match ticket when arriving at the stadium. You can also bring a small power bank, no larger than your mobile phone, if you need it.

8) Remember that bags larger than A4 size won’t be allowed into the stadium 🎒

Packing light is key. If you’re headed directly to the stadium, make sure all your items fit into a bag no bigger than A4 size.

9) Arrive early! ⌚

Travel between the host cities and to the stadium may take longer than expected, and you wouldn’t want to miss out on any of the fun at the Fan Meeting Points or the stadium. Plan to arrive at the stadium at least three hours before kick-off.

10) Don’t bring prohibited items! ⛔

Check the list and make sure you haven’t accidentally packed any of the items mentioned. This includes professional cameras, umbrellas and your own food and drink.

11) Make use of public transport and free shuttle services 🚌

Public transport is a great way to get around, so check our stadium pages for the recommended routes between the city centre and the stadium.

As a ticket holder, you’ll have access to free shuttle buses taking you to the key sites in Enschede. In Rotterdam, a service to and from the Kralingse Zoom P+R area will also be in place. Nice! 😊

Know before you go 💡

Here are a few useful tips to keep in mind before heading to Rotterdam or Enschede:

1️⃣ The Netherlands is in the CEST (Central European Time) time zone and the official language is Dutch, but it has one of the highest levels of English in Europe.

2️⃣ You can get free Wi-Fi at many hotspots around the city including the airport, train station, large supermarkets and public places. If you’re coming from one of our other EU finalist countries – Croatia, Italy, or Spain – you’ll have free EU mobile roaming.

3️⃣ In the Netherlands, contactless and debit/credit card payments are becoming more and more popular, but it doesn’t hurt to have some Euros for any small purchases.
