π§ Getting to Stuttgart
If youβre a citizen of an EU or Schengen member state, you can enter Germany with either your passport or your national identity card.
Nationals from other countries require a passport and potentially a visa.
Stuttgart Central Station, located in the heart of the city, has high-speed routes to national and international locations.
Daily long-distance domestic routes to Stuttgart Central Station include:

International train destinations include Paris, Strasbourg (France), Innsbruck, Vienna, Salzburg (Austria), Budapest (Hungary) and Zurich (Switzerland).
Stuttgart International Airport (STR) is located approximately 10km southwest of the city centre. The four terminals connect passengers to over 120 destinations worldwide.
The airportβs S-Bahn station takes visitors into Stuttgart Central Station in under 30 minutes on lines S2 and S3. The U6 line, a 5-minute walk to the station from the terminal, takes approximately 30 minutes into the city centre.
Other airport options for the city are Frankfurt, Munich and Zurich.
The Stuttgart Airport Bus Terminal SAB is the main station for all long-distance bus lines to the city. The bus terminal is located within the airport site, close to Terminal 4. Visit the SAB website for the complete list of destinations and additional information.
Avoid driving to Stuttgart as city centre traffic is particularly busy.
If you must travel by car, the A8 and A81 motorways are the main routes into Stuttgart, with the A8 connecting east to west and the A81 going north to south. Those travelling by car should consider using one of the 115 Park + Ride facilities in the wider region (link available in German only).
Free matchday travel
Match ticket holders can travel on the VVS (Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund Stuttgart) network to / from Stuttgart Arena for free on matchday.

βοΈ Travelling to Munich from Stuttgart
There are frequent direct connections between Stuttgart Central Station and Munich Central Station with a journey time of 2 hours to 2 hours 15 minutes.
Stuttgart and Munich feature on long-distance bus services which continue to many cities on mainland Europe. Journey times range from 2 hour 20 minutes to 2 hour 50 minutes with no changes or from 3 hours 5 minutes with 1 change.
It is not recommended to travel by car for the Nations League finals. If you must drive, the journey time between the cities is 2 hours 50 minutes. Please visit the Munich travel page for more information on Park + Ride services and avoid driving into the city centre.
