Diego Milito became the 13th and final player to scoop the prestigious UEFA Club Footballer of the Year prize in 2010 – in tandem with the UEFA Club Forward award – on the back of a terrific season in which FC Internazionale Milano dominated in Italy and Europe.
He took the accolade from 2009 winner Lionel Messi, with the likes of Ronaldo, David Beckham and Zinédine Zidane among those previously honoured. No player won the award twice, although Internazionale, FC Barcelona, Real Madrid CF and Manchester United FC each had two individual victories.
