Taking performances in recent UEFA Youth competitions into account the Spanish topped the table with 27 points, comfortably ahead of second-placed England, who garnered 16.5 points. It is the fourth time Spain have won the trophy in seven attempts. Holders Portugal dropped to 25th place.

December presentation
The Spanish Football Federation will be presented with the trophy at the draw for the 2003/2004 youth competitions, which will take place in Nyon, Switzerland on 13 December 2002 at 13:00 CET following the fourth round UEFA Cup draw.
