Added-time winner
Austria lost to Israel 1-0 on Saturday, just as today's opponents Romania did against Greece. But although Austria pushed hard and hit the post, it was Romania that secured the points with a dramatic added-time winner that kept their campaign alive, as Israel today overcame Greece by the same 1-0 scoreline that has been the case in all four Group 5 matches so far.
Wednesday permutations
Romania stay in Bruck/Mur for Wednesday's deciding match, in which they must now defeat Israel. A win by any score other than 1-0 would clinch Romania a place in the Italian-hosted finals in May, but a victory in a one-goal game would only be enough to guarantee first place if Greece do not beat Austria in Kapfenberg - with the group hosts needing three points if they are to have any chance of not finishing fourth.
