Sahin equaliser
Hoping to take a step closer to a third straight U17 title by qualifying for the finals in Germany, Spain made the perfect start when Pablo Sarabia gave them a second-minute lead. The home side doubled their tally three minutes after the break when Borja González converted a penalty he had won, but Belgium began to up the pressure and Pieter Vervaet pulled one back before, in injury time, fellow substitute Emre Sahin equalised. On Saturday Spain take on Kazahstan, who lost 3-0 to Belgium's next opponents the Czech Republic in Thursday's other Group 2 game.
