Austria can still qualify for the UEFA European Under-17 Championship after bouncing back from their opening 2-1 loss to Italy with a win against Georgia.
Victory
While Elite round Group 5 hosts Austria began with defeat, Georgia had gained a dramatic 1-0 win against Scotland. But Austria took a 35th-minute lead through Christoph Knasmüllner's penalty and Marco Djuricin and David Alaba struck after the break. Italy defeated Scotland 2-1 in Sunday's other game, so to qualify Austria must beat Ross Mathie's side on Wednesday and hope Georgia defeat the Azzurrini by a margin of fewer than six goals. If Georgia do win by that smaller margin, that will have to hope Austria do not also pick up three points.
