• Vaduz, with a population of around 5,000, is the capital of Liechtenstein and is thought to have been founded in the 13th century. As well as being home to Vaduz Castle – the seat of the Prince – the national parliament and a cathedral, the city is also a centre of banking.

• As its name suggests, Liechtenstein's national stadium is on the banks of the Rhine, which forms the border with Switzerland.

• The Rheinpark opened on 31 July 1998 with a match between FC Vaduz and 1. FC Kaiserslautern.

• Along with the national team, FC Vaduz play their home games there in the Swiss second tier and UEFA competition, having won the Liechtenstein Cup 12 years in a row and 38 times since 1949.

• In 2003 the Rheinpark staged the final of the UEFA European Under-19 Championship, Italy beating Portugal 2-0.
