• The home of NK Nafta will stage three group games in the UEFA European Under-17 Championship.

• The stadium is modern but the local club, founded in 1903, is one of Slovenia's oldest, and their name means oil as Lendava is home to the only deposits of oil in Slovenia.

• The first post-war champions of Slovenia, Nafta entered the Yugoslavian League in 1946 and after falling down the divisions, returned to the 1. SNL in 2005.

• Lendava, on the Hungarian border, was indeed part of Hungary until 1945, taking its current name ten years later.
